In the opinion of Kasper Zom, ‘green’ and ‘sustainable’ are hypes. According to Zom, unusually high returns are made on green investments. Zom wonders whether this is a realistic picture of the actual situation – or will the value turn out to have been overestimated, causing the bubble to burst?

Pioneer in sustainability
Zom: ‘Sustainable development is becoming increasingly popular, not just in companies but also among the general public. However, it often turns out to be difficult to make concrete progress with the theme. I see ARN as a pioneer in thinking about sustainability. ARN has been demonstrating what it is actually all about for 15 years now: preserving raw materials, saving energy and protecting our living environment for future generations. While many organizations, companies and authorities still have difficulty putting flesh on the concept of “green”, ARN can draw on years of experience. My colleagues and I can benefit from that experience to offer clients thorough advice and guidance.’

Survive
The survivors of the ‘green bubble’ will be those who have brought about real sustainable changes in their company culture, organization, costs and earning model. Sustainability does ultimately yield profits, but only if goals, assessment methods and processes are correctly implemented.
