PST plant from pilot to production plant Tweet
ARN’s PST plant has recently been transformed from pilot to production plant. The capacity has grown enormously and the plant expects to process a daily capacity of no less than 170 tonnes per day in 3 months’ time. The plant’s target to achieve 95% recycling of old cars in 2015 therefore lies within reach.
Operator training
“We have just started training a second group of operators”, says Hans van de Greef, director of the PST plant. “This is going to allow us to run 16 hours a day in different shifts with an increase in capacity to 170 tonnes per day. The training lasts three months. When it is finished, we will have a team of 17 people in total.”
Test batch
“Actually, almost everything in the facility is working fine, except fibre reprocessing”, according to Van de Greef. “And we are getting a better grip on things there too. A test batch employing fibre reprocessing has been sent to a customer – a water authority in Germany – for checking. The results will allow us to adjust the module further, so that it will soon operate optimally.”
